Hardanger at the Historic Kiesling House

July 31, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$3.00

Join us this Saturday 1pm-4pm as Kathy Moe demonstrates the Norwegian art of Handanger.

Kathy Moe is a long time crafter of this traditional embroidery. She will display examples of hardanger and will have handanger items for sale.

Explore the Historic Kiesling House. Constructed in 1861; it survived the US – Dakota War of 1862, tornados, blackbirds, grasshoppers, and city development. It is one of the few structures in Brown County, from that era, that is accessible to the public.

Learn about early pioneer settlement, customs, and traditions of area immigrants. Discover and reexamine events, like the US-Dakota War of 1862, that shaped New Ulm. Examine the development of community and influence of social and political issues on area residents.
