Mammoth Remains Found in Brown County
BCHS recently added Ice Age mammoth remains to its collection. A partial tusk and pelvis bone were discovered in an M. R. Paving & Excavating gravel pit in New Ulm in 2020. After being preserved by the Science Museum of Minnesota, M. R. Paving & Excavating graciously donated the remains to the Brown County Museum for the public to learn from and enjoy.
Below is a short video made by the Science Museum about their efforts to preserve the remains.
