One Room School House Experience
A Living History Camp for K-5th graders
Wednesday JUNE 26th or 27th, 2013

The Brown County Historical Society will be offering a living history camp for children that have completed grades K – 5. Participants will experience all aspects of a school day in a one room school; much like children did during the 19th century.

This is a one day event held from 9:00am – 1:30pm on Wednesday June 26 or Thursday June 27 at the school house on the Brown County Fairgrounds.

Cost of the program is $ 10.00 per student and class size is limited.

A teacher will meet student participants at the “North” State Street gate of the Brown County Fair Grounds at 9:00am. The teacher and students will then walk the rest of the way to the school house. Children may be picked up at the school house at 1:30pm. Photos of your children may be taken at this time.

We encourage students to wear clothes of the 19th century. This could be long skirts, aprons, bonnets, bib overalls or knickers. Shirts & shoes are required. Each child should bring a cold lunch, possibly in a basket or pail. Suggestions for an authentic country school cold lunch include: peanut butter or jelly sandwiches, cold pancakes with sugar, fresh fruit, vegetables, donuts or cookies. (Please do not bring any glass bottles or containers.)

Pre-registration is required.
All registration forms must be signed and returned along with the $ 10.00 fee to the Museum
by Monday, June 17, 2013. Mail or deliver to: Brown County Historical Society Museum, 2 North Broadway, New Ulm, MN 56073
